Turn up the volume with three-dimensional sound & wireless charge
If you're in the market for AirPods, but not keen on spending the premium price tag of the AirPod Pro, then the 3rd-generation of Apple AirPods might be right up your alley.
Released in October 2021, the latest AirPods boast some great features, including a new contoured design for a comfier fit, spatial audio for an immersive sound experience, as well as adaptive EQ to automatically adjust your music balance.
Aside from the visual changes to the latest AirPods, Apple has added a few features that its active users will love. Now with a waterproof and sweatproof design, you won't need to worry about wet weather or if your gym workout takes you to the next level.
When it comes to charging time, you’ll get an extra hour’s use with the 3rd-gen AirPods over its predecessor, offering up to six hours playback or four hours talk time on one speedy five-minute charge. Plus, with the MagSafe Charging Case, you can sit back and enjoy up to 30 hours of total listening time and conveniently charge wirelessly should you add-on the Magsafe wireless charger (wireless charging case costs $79).
Like the AirPod Pros, this model has a pressure-sensitive stem that lets you control your sound by playing, pausing, skipping forwards or backwards or summoning your in-built voice assistant, Siri. These AIrPods also support Announce Notifications that let Siri read out important messages and alerts as they happen, so you won't miss a beat.
All in all, the AirPod 3rd Generation has a heap of new features from the previous model. Whilst these AirPods don't have the noise cancelling features that the AirPod Pros have, you’ll be hard-pressed finding too many other differences from the two models.

The Apple AirPods (3rd generation) represent a big step up from their predecessors in terms of audio performance, connectivity, and design - and while they come with a price increase, we think they’re a worthy upgrade if you have the older AirPods. However, we wouldn’t necessarily recommend them for Android users. The AirPods 3 are unsurprisingly optimized for use within the wider Apple ecosystem, so Android users miss out on a lot of the extra features that set them apart from other true wireless earbuds on the market, and the lack of noise cancellation means they aren’t the most high-spec earbuds at this price.
